Local Files
The simplest data source: files on disk. Supported formats are .csv, .tsv
and .json.
Connecting files
Section titled “Connecting files”- Open the Local Data page from the panel.
- Click Add Files and select one or more data files.
- Reorder files by dragging if needed, then click Connect.
Double-clicking a file in the list reveals it in Explorer (Windows) or Finder (macOS).
Formats
Section titled “Formats”CSV / TSV need a header row; data starts at row 2.
comp,output,headlineMainComp,v1,HelloJSON is an array of objects; keys act as column names. There is no header
row, so data starts at row 1 (see
Row numbering). Numbers and true/false
are injected as text, and null counts as an empty cell.
[ { "comp": "MainComp", "output": "v1", "headline": "Hello" }, { "comp": "MainComp", "output": "v2", "headline": "World" }]Multiple files
Section titled “Multiple files”You can connect several files at once. Note the split in behavior:
- Batch Render and Data Preview use the first file in the list.
- Agent Mode scans all connected files for
readyrows.
Status write-back
Section titled “Status write-back”In Agent Mode, BatchRender writes render progress back into the file’s
status column (rendering..., complete, error: ...), plus any
delivery information columns.
In a CSV or TSV file, write-back changes only those cells; the rest of the file, including its line endings, is left as it was. A JSON file is saved back with standard indentation, so its layout may change after the first write.
